The Future of Workplaces
At the heart of Publicis Groupe’s NYC flagship is Le Truc, a 30,000 SF floor conceived as a vibrant “clubhouse” for a unique collective of creatives and an incubator for new ideas. Taking inspiration from the brand mascot, a mischievous monster that represents the elusive spark of innovation, the design team was tasked with creating a space that is inspiring, provoking, and at times even uncomfortable to shake users out of their comfort zone. The result is a fluid playground of spaces full of hidden moments that spark a sense of discovery and spontaneity.
Stepping out of the elevator one is immersed in a gradient of color for an impactful first impression. Hard and soft lines of light integrate seamlessly between fluid architectural surfaces encouraging movement between spaces and defining areas to pause for spontaneous brainstorming sessions. Reflective curved glass walls and mirrored surfaces create unexpected perspectives and a funhouse effect that encourages exploration.
The language of curved light forms carries into open workplace areas which feature suspended tubular pendants in soft loop configurations.
To distinguish itself from other workspaces, the pantry lounge takes a quieter approach to lighting with soft lines of illumination, indirect coves and simple recessed downlights highlighting counter surfaces. Emphasis is placed on the view outside the windows and landscape elements within the space.
Lounges and meeting spaces each have their own color palette and character. Playful furniture and diffuse light fixtures create moments of spontaneity and surprise – both for users inside the room and when viewed through carefully placed window openings.
Recessed ring-shaped downlights provide even, diffuse, ambient illumination at this navy-hued presentation room that does triple duty as a screening theater, presentation area, and brainstorming space.
